Gillette, NJ
Every year we make it to Hillview Farms in Gillette for some peach picking. They are not far from us and it makes for a nice fall day there. Expect to do lots of walking, especially uphill! The peaches this year were delicious (the year before they were badly damaged by hail).

Peddler’s Village, PA

The kids and I were headed to Bucks County, PA, to run some errands. To make this routine trip more fun for them I like to pick a cool place to visit in that neighborhood. Some place that we haven’t been to before. This time I chose Giggleberry Fair on friend’s recommendation.

I have lived in and around NYC for more then half my life now, and I am embarrassed to say that I have never been to the top of the Empire State Building. On our son’s birthday we decided to make it up there.
This was fun while it lasted, but Bowcraft now is nothing but a lovely memory. It shut down in 2019, sold, and redeveloped for condos. Thank you for the memories.
Bowcraft is a fun little amusement park in Union County, NJ. It is right on Rt. 22 in Scotch Plains.
Bergen County, NJ

We made the trip to the Bergen County Zoo mostly because of it’s close proximity to our dentist’s office. I wasn’t expecting much from this trip. I was very pleasantly surprised. It is such a lovely place to visit! The zoo was not big, but had plenty to see. It was clean, neat and the animals looked happy.

When my niece came over for a few weeks in the summer I figured that the perfect thing would be a visit to Build A Bear Workshop. Sounds like a great place to take a kid, right? That’s what I figured too, and it was. I went online, found a location next to us, even got a coupon in the mail for $10.00 off. Awesome! I was ready.

I graduated from Rutgers and after being there for five years I have passed by Zimmerli Museum a million times. I am embarrassed to say that I only went there once, and it was a very quick visit. I used to take a lot of Art History courses in Voorhees Lecture Hall, and never took more than a moment to stop at that beautiful museum. Maybe it had something to do with having a newborn while in college, but now the kids are older and we can enjoy such outings.

We don’t usually do large birthday parties. Instead the kids get to pick a trip to a relatively local destination, that we can all go as a family. It has always worked wonderful for our family. This year my kids wanted to include a few friends for their celebration. On my younger ones birthday we invited two of their close friends and went to IPlay America.
