We made it out to the city to go and see the Museum of Natural History. The older guy loves archeology stuff right now, and the little one is into anything space related.

Franklin Mineral Museum is another entertaining place. We got to go to the quarry, pick rocks and bring them in large buckets to the UV light shack.

Alstede Farms is a great place with many things to do and see. It is organic and sustainable. We were able to feed the funniest and friendliest donkey, chickens, rabbits, and a very gentle horse.
Augusta, NJ
August-September 2015
We had an A-Maze-Ing time at the Sussex County Sunflower Maze in Augusta NJ. They are open only for a short little while in the late summer and fall. I can not tell you how happy I was that we made it! It is so beautiful that there aren’t enough words to describe it.

We went to Stony Hill Farm and Market to their 10 acre corn maze in Chester, NJ. It was great. We got lost in the one part of the maze and kept walking in circles. I had a bit of claustrophobia. Corn was everywhere. We came out eventually, giggling wildly and happy to be out.
Liberty Island, NJ

Statue Of Liberty is going in both NJ trips and NY trips. It’s a destinations for both.
This is our second trip to the Statue Of Liberty as a family. After being there once only a few years ago, I don’t know if we would have made this second trip so soon. However, this time my aunt was visiting from Odessa, Ukraine. We decided to go there and enjoy it together.

PUMP IT UP was really exciting news for me when it opened up. There is one not far from us and it is a great rainy day activity. Just make sure to call ahead and reserve a spot for the open bounce.
Clark, New Jersey
Fall 2015
We went to the Oak Ridge Archery Range for and archery lesson. You have to be at least 10 years old, so it was my son, husband and I. Now we can get a permit and shoot arrows there. It was tremendous fun.

“Built in 1772, on the eve of the American Revolution, Liberty Hall has been a silent witness to more than 200 years of American history. “– retrieved on 12/5/2014, from http://www.kean.edu/libertyhall/about_us.html
Even though fall is a busy time for us with learning, and regular activities like art and soccer, we did squeeze in a trip to the Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University. We were very pleasantly surprised at how much fun the trip turned out to be.
I wrote this post back in 2015. Since then, my kids have grown up past wanting to go to the Land of Make Believe. However, in all honesty, we had made the best memories there. I hope this place is around when I have grandkids, or nieces and nephews.
We have made another visit to the Land Of Make Believe and Pirate’s Cove. This time it was with my little one’s friend, and my older son came along. For those of you who don’t know, The Land Of Make Believe is a water park and rides rolled into one package. Both aren’t enormously large, and can easily be explored by youngsters in one day without being exhausted or missing out. Well, maybe just a little exhausted. It is such a nice place to visit on a hot summer day. We enjoyed everything with the water: the pool, the lazy river, every single slide about ten times each. It was a glorious summer day.
