Our Visit To Mercer Museum

Doylestown, PA

November 2016

This spring the kids and I took a trip to the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA. For my two boys a fun museum is a difficult thing to find. They love The Museum of Natural History, but are somewhat warm to art museums, no matter how much I like them. The Mercer Museum really hit the spot for them. We came not knowing what to expect and found it to be a fascinating place with so much to explore.

Our Visit To Longwood Gardens

Kenneth Square, PA

Spring 2018

Longwood Gardens in PA has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.

I wish I lived closer. I would be there all the time! Most recently we have stopped there on the way to Washington, D.C. It was as beautiful as always with some areas renovated to look even more lovely.

Our Visit To Duke Farms

Hillsborough Township, NJ

Several times a year.

We absolutely love Duke Farms, especially now, after the renovations, when you can go on a bike all around the place! It used to be guided tours in the green houses. That was a beautiful place to go, especially in the middle of February, when you walk inside and smell summer in the middle of winter. Now they remade the place, and you can go hiking through the grounds. It is also beautiful.  I love that now it is outdoors and self guided! They kept an orchid green house open for visitors, so you can still walk in in the middle of winter and feel like you’re in a tropical paradise. It is such a wonderful place.

Our Visit To New Hope and Lambertville

New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ

We go there so often, that I just couldn’t put a date on it.

We haven’t gone away on vacation for quite some time. Between little kids, finances, dog, house, grandparents it is just a little difficult. We do, however, have a favorite local spot to which we go every few months to get away. It’s the Lambertville NJ – New Hope PA area. Many things that we would want to find while vacationing we have found there in abundance.

Rafting on Delaware River

Matamoras, PA

Every Summer

At least once a year in the summer time we like to get a cooler full of sandwiches and drinks, throw on our swimming suits and go rafting. There are so many great places along the Delaware Water Gap to rent a raft from.

New Jersey Botanical Garden

Ringwood, NJ

We go there a few times a year!

New Jersey Botanical Garden is located in Ringwood, NJ. It is beautiful, quiet and never crowded place. We love it there. They have many plants, so no matter what season you choose to go there there is something to see. For me, my favorite time of the year to go is in mid May, so that I can catch the lilac tree grove in bloom. Another great time is in August, to see the waterlillies. Of course, early spring is great to, with all the bright spring colors and cherry blossoms.

Our Visit To NJ State Theater

New Brunswick, NJ

March 2012

Every so once in a while we go to NJ State Theater to see a few on school time performances. We homeschool, so it is easy enough for us to purchase the tickets for school time performances anytime there is something good playing. It is most certainly worth the effort.
Last year we saw Blast!, “Sylvester and the Magic Pebble”, “MOMIX remix” and the Shanghai Acrobats.  Here is more about our visit to NJ State Theater.
